Mercedes-Benz FashionWeek Amsterdam which will be held from 8 till 18 January. Mercedes-Benz FashionWeek Amsterdam (MBFWA) is the main fashion event in the Benelux for fashion designers, commercial labels, well-established brands and upcoming talents. MBFWA aims to connect, grow and celebrate the fashion industry. The existence of the event breaks the gap between buyers, brands, fashion professionals and designers, and tries to give the Dutch fashion industry an open, international stage.
The event celebrates the existence of major fashion talents. MBFWA is organized twice a year on the grounds of the Westergasfabriek in Amsterdam and offers next to the Catwalk programme in the Gashouder, side programmes such as Fashion LAB and MBFWA OFF SCHEDULE. Fashion LABis the platform where upcoming talents have a chance to show and is held at the smaller building of Westergasfabriek, in the Transformatorhuis. MBFWA OFF SCHEDULE brings fashion to the people within artistic events spread through 10 unique locations in Amsterdam during 10 days.
MBFWA OFF SCHEDULE is the cultural program of FashionWeek where fashion is brought to you, at hotspots all around Amsterdam. We make sure fashion is accessible for everyone! In the 10-day program designers are challenged to think creatively about presenting their vision. We connect fashion with other disciplines such as theatre, history, art, dance, music, photography & film. Every day of the 10 days we host different events. The organisations that work together for OFF SCHEDULE are our true partners in establishing the program. Everyone is equally involved in the creative process – we find our strength in the diversity of visions!
The closing day of Mercedes-Benz FashionWeek Amsterdam will be all about the future of fashion. Fifteen designers, thinkers, visionaries will give their vision on the phenomena called fashion and it’s not so sure future. They will take you on a journey through an outspoken selection of installations in the Brave Monday Hotel, talkshows, performances and groundbreaking innovative work of our international guests.
