“We’re so excited to announce that Prince Harry and Meghan will both be joining us for #GlobalCitizenLive this Saturday!,” read the tweet, posted to Global Citizen’s account. It continued with further details, “Coverage of the once-in-a-generation event starts from 5.30 pm on Sept. 25 over at @BBCOne.”

The aim of the Global Citizen Live campaign is to urge G7 countries and the European Union to share a minimum of 1 billion COVID-19 vaccine doses with regions in need and to raise support for intellectual property rights to be waived on the vaccine’s pharmaceutical patents.

“The campaign is also calling on Pfizer, BioNTech, and Moderna to share mRNA technology with the new World Health Organization-backed transfer hub based in South Africa,” per Global Citizen’s website.

The Sussexes have worked with Global Citizen for vaccine causes in the past as co-chairs of the VAX LIVE event in May. “The virus does not respect borders, and access to the vaccine cannot be determined by geography,” Prince Harry said at VAX LIVE. “It must be accepted as a basic right for all and that is our starting point.”

Other celebrities participating in Global Citizen Live include Andrea Bocelli, Billie Eilish, BTS, Camila Cabello, Coldplay, Cyndi Lauper, Demi Lovato, Doja Cat, Duran Duran, Ed Sheeran, Elton John, Hugh Jackman, Jennifer Lopez, Kylie Minogue, Lizzo, Lorde, Metallica, Ricky Martin, and Shawn Mendes.
