Kate Middleton Shock: Family Member Speaks Out Against Meghan Markle

A close relative of Kate Middleton has broken his silence about the controversial claims Meghan Markle said about the Duchess of Cambridge. Gary Goldsmith, the duchess’ uncle, does not believe that Kate is capable of making someone cry.

Meghan said in an interview with Oprah Winfrey that tabloid reporters got it wrong when they published stories about her conflict with Kate Middleton in 2018, alleging that it was actually Kate who made her cry in one incident. She also claimed that the palace supported the narrative that she’s the villain versus her sister-in-law.

However, Goldsmith said that he has known Kate since her birth and she was not raised to be mean and have a mean nature. Goldsmith implied that Meghan was the type to cause a hissy fit compared to his niece.

The duchess’ uncle decided to speak up to the press because he wanted to fight for the honor of his niece. Goldsmith reiterated that Kate is the “most spectacular person” he’s ever met.

Goldsmith is the brother of Carole Middleton, the mother of the Duchess of Cambridge. The uncle was one of the guests at Kate’s wedding to Prince William in 2011.

Meanwhile, royal correspondent Katie Nicholl said that the Duchess of Cambridge felt “mortified” when Meghan brought up the crying incident in the interview. Apparently, Kate felt that this issue had long been sorted out but Meghan had to bring it up in public yet again. Nicholl said that there are different versions of the story of who actually made someone else cry but Kate does not want to respond to Meghan’s claims anymore.

Sources inside the palace said that William was furious about Meghan’s claims and could not tolerate her treatment of his wife. Veteran royal journalist Penny Junor agreed that William could be more upset than his wife over the interview because Meghan “muddied” Kate on primetime television.

But William and Kate appeared to have no hard feelings when she was briefly reunited with Meghan’s husband, Prince Harry, at the funeral of their grandfather, Prince Philip. The trio was seen talking to each other just like old times. Reports also stated that Harry spent a few hours with his brother and sister-in-law after the funeral.

Harry is due to see William and Kate Middleton again in July, when the brothers unveil the statue dedicated to their mother, Princess Diana, at Kensington Palace. Markle, however, will likely not attend the ceremony as she could still be on maternity leave.
