Bridesmaids actress Kristen Wiig recently confirmed some major news! The actress recently revealed that she secretly got married to her partner Avi Rothman! Avi is a writer, actor, producer and director who trained at the Groundlings Theatre in Los Angeles – where Kristen also studied.
While the couple has been extremely private with their dating life, reports of them dating emerged in 2016, and rumour mills were also buzzing with the news that the duo may have even gotten engaged in 2019.
Wiig and Rothman were first spotted together in Hawaii back in May of 2016. And now, the 47-year-old actress has finally confirmed that she got married to the writer-actor-director during her appearance on The Howard Stern Show.
“Besides the fact that we are where we are — it’s hard to not feel so much of the s— and struggle that’s going on — in my home, I’m very lucky about having these two babies and my husband,” Kristen said while discussing the pandemic. “They make it all better, and it’s changed my life.
This doesn’t come as a surprise seeing how the actress likes to keep things private, back in June 2020, there were even reports that Wiig and Rothman welcomed twins via surrogate. A source spoke to People magazine at the time and confirmed the news.
While the news was never confirmed by Wiig until now, back in May, the actress did host the Mother’s Day episode of Saturday Night Live, where she hinted at becoming a mother, by thanking her mom Laurie Johnston, for “preparing me to be a mom myself.”
