As the United States (US) returns to normalcy, the twice-impeached former US President Donald Trump is expected to resume his political rallies from next month.

Trump, who lost the US election 2020 to the Democrat candidate Joe Biden, has decided to return to the public eye to support the candidates to favor him and his agenda. A source told the Post that two rallies were being planned in June, while a third would take place around the July 4 holiday.

Trump remains a popular Republican candidate for a 2024 run within the GOP and he has tightened his grip on the party since his impeachment trial.

“The President is anxious to get back out on the trail and we are getting a lot of offers and invitations from both candidates and political causes in different areas,” the adviser said according to the Daily Mail.

The former president, who turns 75 next month, is also expected to appear on May 22 at the first fundraiser for a new super-political action committee he’s backing.

Trump has not held a rally since January 6, when he spoke at a “Stop the Steal” march in Washington, DC, which was attended by his supporters. Hundreds of them went on to violently breach the Capitol building in an attempt to overturn the presidential election.

Before and during his presidency, Trump held dozens of rallies across the United States which he favored as an effective way of communicating directly with his supporters. The former president has repeatedly indicated that he could run for office again in 2024.

Under US law, Presidents can serve a maximum of two terms but they don’t have to be consecutive. Last week, he told The Daily Wire that he was “enthused” about the possibility of a 2024 run, the New York Post reported.

“I look forward to doing an announcement at the right time,” he said. “As you know, it’s very early. But I think people are going to be very, very happy when I make a certain announcement. You know, for campaign finance reasons, you really can’t do it too early because it becomes a whole different thing.

“Otherwise, I’d give you an answer that I think you’d be very happy with. So, we are looking at that very, very seriously, and all I’d say is stay tuned.”
