10 – Beverly House, Los Angeles, California:

At 50,000 square feet the Beverly House is tied with number 9. It lies on 3.7 acres only 3 blocks from Sunset Boulevard and once belonged to William Randolph Hearst. Just a few of the rooms and features include a 50 foot entry hall, living room with 22 foot arched ceilings, library, billiard room, formal dining room, breakfast room, and family room, along with an outdoor terrace capable of accommodating up to 400 guests for a sit-down dinner. In 2007 the home was listed for $165 million with the price eventually dropping to $95 million.

In 2009 the value was assessed at around $147.5 million.
