Virginia Fashion Week 2010 kicked off yesterday to celebrate an action-packed, glamour-filled week of fashion and style till November 14.
VA Fashion Week presents NY style fashion shows to standing room only crowds. Since its inception in 2007, it has expanded its horizon and raised its standards with an aim to be the premier fashion event between New York and Miami.
This year’s VA Fashion Week has got something grand in its plans with an exciting new plan to feature the event as well as the preparation in a documentary style reality show. Besides, there will a silent auction of clothing, art, and gift certificates to benefit “virginians4haiti”, a charity established to rebuild a community devastated by the earthquake.In addition to that, there will be incredibly new design talent and stunning new models in additional to returning favorites. The diverse collections this year will be nothing less than spectacular.
Fashion designers that are participating this year include Lili Forrest, who began her career with the successful label “Deviations Dress in Peace” and a popular designer among celebrities such as Beyonce, Paris Hilton, Cher, Diana Ross, Pink and Mandy Moore. The award winning designer Matthew Cashe, April Spring, whose fans include, Beyonce, The Backstreet Boys and Jordin Sparks, Michael Taylor and Mikasa La’Charles.
From November 7 to 10, there will be various Designer and Boutique Shows in various VA cities including Charlottesville, Roanoke, Blacksburg and Virginia Beach.
On Thursday November 11, VA Fashion Week will begin the Hampton Roads event with the fall hair/make-up competition, fashion show and party.
On Friday November 12, there will be a grand “Fashion Night Out”. Saturday 13 November will see the Waterside Festival Marketplace Norfolk* and a Waterside Festival Marketplace Norfolk * on Sunday November 14.
